 Relay Control Module (RCM)

 Introduction

The relay control module is used to control up to 32 access points. This module can also connect to an extension control module when more relays are required.

While the KAS Neo Access Control Reader is a reader and control panel in one, it can only manage 1 relay

This is usually fine from a standard security perspective of access control management, however some customers may require the relay module for higher security reasons or even to control multiple access points in extremely proximity to each other.

 Higher Security Control

For higher security the reader and control module are separated into 2.

When you combine the KAS Neo Access Control with the Relay Control Module, the reader will essentially  be at the entry point and only perform as  a reader, this will then send the credentials to the relay control model, usually located in a communication cabinet to approve or deny access.

The separation of the reader and module means that if the reader was to be tampered with, there is no physical way it can be wired to unlock.

Multiple readers can all point to the Relay Control Module, meaning you can control several locations at a higher security level.

Usually, high security areas also have entry points that are not easy to break into. Eg a standard glass door would not be recommended as the glass can be broken in with a large rock.

 Multi Access Point Management

Customers may wish to manage several areas or entry points with a single reader, only opening the single point or area, not all.

Sometimes these areas are too small for traditional locks or many not even have a door.

Examples for a single access control reader managing 32 relays+

  • Lift floors control

  • Letter boxes

  • Gym Lockers

  • Jewellery Cabinets

  • Office space control

This unit can also be used with your existing lift floor relay.

 Supporting Technologies

The Relay Module & Neo Access Control Reader can support the following technologies;

  • RFID Cards & Fob Access. Mifare1 Classic

  • Smart Phone App Access via Bluetooth.

  • Online Control & Management via cloud console
