USB Card encoder is not connecting to software or Mobile Programmer is not downloading door data
If you are finding that the USB Card Encoder or Mobile Programmer is not being detected or locating the KAS-LMS Software. Complete the following checks:
Keynote: USB Card Encoder must be plugged into USB port BEFORE you launch the KAS-LMS Software
If you see the following message, the USB Card Encoder is detected successfully and will work as normal.
If you see the following message, the USB Card Encoder is NOT detected successfully and follow the steps to complete.
- Quit KAS-LMS Software
- Un-plug USB Card Encoder and/or Mobile Programmer from USB port on computer
- Plug USB Card Encoder in USB port on computer – Wait for tone played on the computer that USB device is ready – Sometimes trying a different USB Port can help
- Right-click on KAS-LMS Software and click “Run As Administrator”
- Wait for the window popup messages as displayed above and confirm the detection.
If the issue still persists, try finding the USB Card Encoder in Device Management in Control Panel on your computer and ensure it’s connected and available. Try different USB ports. If you cannot find the USB device in Device Management on your computer, the USB Card Encoder may be faulty or damaged. Check warranty and contact your local Partner Installer for a potential replacement.
