‘Fail to connect to database’ Error Message When Launching Software

If you see this message when starting the KAS software, follow the steps below to restart SQL:

  1. Open Start Menu
  2. Search ‘Computer Management’

Note: for Windows 7:

  1. Left-click on the Start Icon
  2. Select ‘Control Panel’
  3. Select the ‘Administrative Tools’
  4. Open ‘Computer Management’.
  5. 5.Select Services and Applications 6. Select SQL Server Configuration Manager
  6. SQL Service (KAS) will display stopped or paused – Right click to ‘Start ‘or ‘restart’
  7. Close the windows and reopen KAS Software.
